To the Editor:
I just heard on the evening news that Orange County has been administering 2,000 vaccines each day while Sumter County issued 300+/- on Jan. 7 at the Wildwood Community Center and then 300+/- a few days prior in Bushnell.
According to the latest census, the population of Orange County is 1.39 million, only 12.3 percent of the population is 65+ or 170,970. The population of Sumter is 132,420 with the population 65+ being 58.2 percent or 77,068. Sumter County’s senior population is 45 percent to Orange County’s senior population. We should be administering 900 vaccines a day. Why the disparity?
