To the Editor:
I have been trying to figure how and why so many unaccompanied young people have begun entering the U.S. Which also confuses me when you consider that so many progressives are either closing their eyes to the flow or encouraging it. The real confusion is when the progressives want to pay reparations to one group of slave descendants, while creating a renewed class of slaves (indentured servants.)
I kept wondering how people who were broke could possibly pay $5,000-$10,000 to migrate to our country, until I read that people and businesses were paying the fees in return for indentured servitude.
I know this is not exactly like the process, years ago, that became known as slavery, but it sure smells a lot like it.
Are we setting our country up for reparations in the future for our new generations of “slaves”?
