Wildwood Police Department warns area residents about scam seeking donations

The Wildwood Police Department is warning area residents about a possible scam involving their agency.

The department was informed Monday that a local resident received a letter claiming to be from the Wildwood Police Department asking for donations. Officers want all residents to know that the department would never send a letter soliciting donations.

“If you receive one of these letters, please do not send money,” the department’s Facebook page says. “This letter is a scam.”
