FHP seeking identity of driver killed in fiery crash in Sumter County

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the identity of a pickup driver killed in a fiery crash early Sunday morning in Sumter County.

The male driver had been southbound on County Road 745 south of County Road 48 near Webster at about 3 a.m. Sunday when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway, according to the accident report. The vehicle struck and a tree and caught fire. The driver was severely burned and died at the scene of the crash.

The identity of the driver remains unknown at this time, the FHP.
