A driver was ticketed after a crash Tuesday morning at a notoriously busy intersection in The Villages.
A woman had been driving northbound on Buena Vista Boulevard at 10:17 a.m. when she attempted to make a left turn onto County Road 466, but turned directly into the path of a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Buena Vista Boulevard, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
The man driving the second vehicle was not injured, but a female passenger was transported to Ocala Health Trailwinds Village ER on County Road 466A in Wildwood. Her injuries were not serious.
The female driver who caused the crash was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.
That is a notoriously busy intersection and has been the scene of numerous accidents through the years.
