Joel Allan Shelko, 81, of The Villages, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

Joel was born on December 3, 1939 to his beloved parents Samuel and Fanny Shelko in Passaic, NJ where he was raised along with older brother, Arthur. After high school, Joel headed to Paris Island to join the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as a Corporal and a Guided Missile Technician. He then attended The Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT) and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. Joel then married the love of his life, Lois, and together they raised a family in Yardley, PA and retired in The Villages, FL. Joel’s passions were his family, world travel, playing sports, the New York Giants, and the United States Marine Corp.

Joel is survived in his passing by his loving wife of 55 years Lois; sons, Aric (Audra) and Scott (Dawn); grandchildren, Julia (Michael), Olivia, Andrew, Chloe, John, Alayna and Sean; great granddaughter Logan Alyssa. He is preceded in death by his brother, Arthur.

A graveside service will be on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 9:30 AM, held at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown, PA 18940. The United States Marine Corps Honor Guard will be providing military honors at the service.
