A Summerfield man was arrested after a woman claimed he choked her when she denied his “requests for affection.”
According to a report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to a residence in Summerfield in reference to a disturbance in May.
The victim claims 40-year-old Thomas Robison choked her. The victim says Robison had entered her home several times, waiting in the bedroom for her to come home from work. She said that on May 20, she came home from visiting a friend and found Robison in her bedroom. The victim says the encounter became physical when she denied him affection, according to the sheriff’s report.
The victim claims Robison grabbed her by her arm and threw her onto the bed. The victim claims he then began to choke her with both arms around her neck before she fell to the ground. She said Robison continued to choke her while she was on the ground, so she kicked him off and called 911. She said Robison then fled the home on foot, according to the report.
Robison called the woman and apologized for what he did. A deputy was able to hear the call on speaker, according to the report.
The victim provided a small portion of video from inside her bedroom and a still-photo showed Robison on top of the victim, the report revealed.
A warrant was issued for Robison’s arrest at the time. He was taken into custody Monday and booked at the Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $5,000.
Robison is charged with domestic battery by strangulation and has a court date set for 9 a.m. Sept. 8.
