We should not be praising Biden’s ‘courage’ for leaving Afghanistan

To the Editor:

Mr. MacDonald’s letter praising President Biden for “having the courage to withdraw from Afghanistan…” is as incorrect as it is misleading and off point.
He and other democrats miss the point when they praise him for Getting out of Afghanistan because most wanted out but it’s the incompetent, and disastrous way we got out by pulling our soldiers out before we took our citizens out. Leaving billions of dollars of high tech equipment and abandoning our strategic airbase which left us with no eyes and ears was beyond stupid.
Also, in a war, one party doesn’t just leave a war. We left Afghanistan but not the war because the Taliban and other terrorists are still at war with us and instead of fighting them there, they will bring the war to us like they did on 9/11/01.
President Biden’s incompetent cost us 14 brave American soldiers when they didn’t have to die. He should be impeached, not praised, Mr. MacDonald.
