The elites want to tear down this country

To the Editor:

The contributing commentary by Ted Rall on Dec. 2, disturbed me. Not having a Twitter account, I felt obliged to offer my opinion. Mr. Rall complains that the U.S. Constitution is hopelessly outdated and should be updated continuously to reflect our changing culture much like Germany, France, East Timor, South Sudan, Pakistan,Tobago and South Africa.
The United States has prospered for 234 years in great prosperity due in great part to this Constitution which doesn’t guarantee happiness or success but only offers the opportunity to be successful without government interference. The founders well knew that a set of rules subject to the whims of politicians would lead to difficult times and made sure that any change had to be well thought out before any change could be done. Sure, this country is not perfect but where are the people flocking to? Pakistan? India? South Sudan?
It is interesting that Hollywood personalities and politicians and newspaper writers have no interest in moving to theses enlightened countries. They only are intent on downgrading this one.
