Showcase of Talent raises $5,000 to support Opera Club of The Villages

Showcase of Talent has awarded $5,000 to the Opera Club of The Villages.

Showcase of Talent founders Joe and Diana Arlt made the check presentation this past Friday to the Opera Club’s President Gerri Piscitelli and Vice President Geri Dempsey.

“The Opera Club of the Villages is deeply grateful to Diana and Joe Arlt for their generosity to the Harold Schwartz Music Scholarship program. This past year has been very difficult for all of the non/profit charitable organizations,” Piscitelli said. 

The money from Showcase of Talent will help fund the major scholarships of $12,000, $10,000, $8,000 and $6,000 as well as the Encouragement Awards, she added.

To date more than $90,000 has been awarded by Showcase of Talent for scholarships to other clubs. Showcase of Talent is a Villages club that showcases new talent and is held the third Friday of the month at La Hacienda Recreation Center.
