Illegal crossings continue to rise at southern border on Biden’s watch

Congressman Daniel Webster

Last week, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released their June Immigration report. The report showed that there were over 200,000 illegal crossings of our southern border last month, the fourth consecutive month of over 200,000 encounters and worst June report on record.

This is a 527 percent increase in apprehensions compared to the last June report from the Trump administration. Since Joe Biden has taken office, over 3.1 million illegal immigrants have been apprehended and countless others have evaded authorities.

This report only furthers what we’ve known about this crisis, the Biden Administrations open border policies put America at risk.

I have sponsored and advocated for legislation that would protect the integrity of our immigration laws, and it is past time for this administration and Congressional Democrats to take up these proposals to secure our border.

Congressman Daniel Webster represents The Villages in the U.S. House of Representatives.
