Gate arms are coming down in The Villages ahead of a potential tropical storm.

Community Watch will be removing the gate arms to protect the controllers and motors, according to an announcement from the District Office.

  • At 12 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 all gate arms will be removed starting at unstaffed locations.  Once all gate arms are removed from unstaffed locations, the gate arms at staffed locations will be removed as well.
  • Conditions permitting, Community Watch staff will begin reinstalling all gate arms at 12 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.
  • Patrol Drivers may suspend operations if road conditions are deemed unsafe and will resume operations once authorized by staff.

In addition, District Property Management is actively lowering Lake Paradise before the potential impact of the storm.

The District Office has also announced that there are no planned closure of facilities in The Villages.
