Officials must take common sense approach to affordable housing

To the Editor:

There need to be more affordable housing options for workers at various income levels.  That said, the concerns of local officials for the strain this will place on infrastructure is equally valid.  If the state is actively encouraging the former they need to be funding the latter. This is simply common sense.  Encouraging rapid increases in affordable housing without a comparable focus on the infrastructure to support it is a recipe for disaster.
