Former kicker at VHS named team captain at university in Michigan

Brandon Gielow made his mark as a kicker for The Villages High School. Now he continues to get his kicks for Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Gielow – an all-conference kicker last year for the Panthers – was named a team captain for the 2023 season.

He played soccer and football at VHS.  Last year for Davenport, Gielow made 9 of 11 field goals, including one from 41 yards. He also converted 38 of 42 extra points. He was named an all-conference placekicker, and finished with 65 points.
Gielow – a junior  – set a single season record for Davenport for points, points-after-touchdowns made, field goals made and field goal percentage.
