An Oxford Oaks man was arrested with fentanyl after running a stop sign.

Jeremy Scott Peloquin, 42, who lives in the family development on U.S. 301, was driving a green Mercury Mountaineer shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday when he failed to obey a stop sign at Will O’Dell Avenue and County Road 466 in Oxford, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

During a traffic stop, a deputy approached Peloquin’s vehicle and noticed a glass pipe, tinfoil and a torch lighter. Peloquin, who was arrested in 2020 when he was found with a woman and open liquor at the club house at Parkwood, was found to be in possession of .03 grams of fentanyl.

He was arrested on charges of drug possession and possession of drug equipment. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $3,500 bond.
