A judge has ordered that the owner of Il Villagio be released from home confinement.

Judge Mary Hatcher has decided to release 45-year-old Rima Ray of St. Augustine from home confinement, though Ray must continue to wear a GPS monitoring device, according to an order entered in Sumter County Court. A $1 million bond has already been posted.

Ray, 45, is accused of raking in $24 million and preying on elderly customers at Il Villagio, located on U.S. Hwy. 441 in the Sumter County portion of Lady Lake. Last year, State Attorney Bill Gladson detailed the charges in a press conference.

Ray, who is a female but has facial hair and looks like a man, was originally arrested in July driving a Maserati in St. Johns County and carrying a large sum of cash and a gold bar.

Many of those frequenting Il Villagio were Villagers.
