
Daniel W. Sprouls, 68, of The Villages, Florida, and formerly of West Haven, CT passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, in Leesburg, Florida.
Born on August 8, 1957, in Oyster Bay, New York, Dan was the beloved son of William and Geraldine (Mullins) Sprouls. He was a graduate of Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and went on to build a successful career as an entrepreneur. In 1990, he founded a wholesale distribution business specializing in consumer products, which he proudly owned and operated for 36 years. Through hard work, determination, and an unwavering commitment to his customers, Dan created a business that reflected his strong work ethic and integrity.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dan had a passion for exploring the world. He loved to travel and embraced every opportunity to experience new places and cultures. His adventures took him throughout much of the continental United States and to destinations overseas, creating cherished memories and stories that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.
Above all, Dan treasured the people he loved. He shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Joan, whose companionship and support were at the heart of his life. Together, they built a lifetime of memories filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Dan is survived by his wife, Joan Sprouls of The Villages, Florida; his sister, Sharon Doughty, and her husband, Ken, of Stratford, Connecticut; and his beloved niece and nephew. He will be remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit, his love of travel, and the kindness and warmth he brought to those around him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Family and friends are invited to honor Dan’s memory by sharing stories, remembering happy times, and celebrating a life well lived.
