A complaint was received July 11 by Community Standards regarding grass and weeds in the landscaping beds. The property was brought into compliance on Oct. 14.

Another complaint was received April 27 regarding overgrown grass and weeds in the shrubbery beds. This time, it was considered a “reoccurring” violation and the homeowner was issued a notice of public hearing.

Johnny and Robin Susko bought this home at 1500 Gadsden Place after selling their previous home at a substantial loss due to sinkhole damage.

The home was purchased in 2017 by Johnny and Robin Susko. They have been given seven days to bring the property into compliance. If they fail to do so, they could face daily fines up to $500, due to this being classified as a reoccurring violation.

The couple previously owned a home at 2005 Markridge Loop. They filed a lawsuit against The Villages after Hurricane Irma in 2017 prompted the formation of two sinkholes “around and under their home as a result of overflow water being diverted from the golf course ponds directly into their yard,” according to a complaint filed in Sumter County Court. Their home was “condemned and unsalvageable” and the couple was ultimately forced to “sell their home as a distressed property taking a substantial loss.” The Sumter County Property Appraiser’s records show that the Suskos bought the home in 2010 for $394,700 and sold it in 2018 for $50,100. The lawsuit was eventually settled.
