
Jacqueline R. Garvey, 72, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2026, surrounded by friends and family, with her beloved husband by her side.
Born in Saginaw, Michigan, Jacki lived a life defined by kindness, service, friendship, and love. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome. Her radiant smile would light up a room, and she never seemed to meet a stranger. To Jacki, every new person was potentially a friend. Her warm personality, genuine interest in others, and easy conversation made her beloved by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jacki worked as a Water Billing Clerk for the Village of Westmont, Illinois, where she was known for her dedication and friendly nature. Beyond her professional life, she was deeply committed to helping others through her years of service in Al-Anon, where she touched countless lives with her compassion, understanding, and support.
She embraced life with enthusiasm. She enjoyed cardio drumming, playing cards, spending time with friends, and laughing with those around her. An avid animal lover, she cherished her cats, Cosmo and Spice, who brought her great comfort and wonder.
On June 10th, 1995, Jacki married the love of her life, Maurice (Maury) M. Garvey. Together they shared nearly 31 years of marriage filled with love, partnership, family, and countless treasured memories.
Jacki is survived by her devoted husband, Maurice (Maury) M. Garvey; her children, Amy Coning, Sherrill Wehnes, Robert Marotz (Stacy), Maurice P. Garvey (Erin), Thomas Garvey (Cathy), Joseph Garvey (Cari), and Alexander Prendergast (Julie). She leaves behind to cherish her memory, 17 grandchildren, 2 sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Jacki’s greatest gift was the love she shared so freely with others. Her joyful spirit, generous heart, unwavering kindness, and ability to make everyone feel valued will be remembered. While her family and friends mourn her loss, they find comfort in the countless memories she created and the lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
