28-year-old man struck and killed in Marion County

A 28-year-old Ocala man was struck and killed Thursday evening in Marion County.

Christopher Michael Wright had been walking at 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lane of U.S. 441 when he was struck by 2016 Mazda CX-9 driven by Grace Angeline Baker, 33, of Belleview, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Wright walked directly into the path of Baker’s vehicle, the report noted.

He was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
