61-year-old driver of van pronounced dead at scene of crash in Lake County

The 61-year-old driver of a van was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash Friday afternoon in Lake County.

Donald Styer of Deland had been driving a 2005 Dodge van at 3:15 p.m. westbound on County Road 42 when he turned into the path of a 2005 Jeep SUV driven by 70-year-old Loren Dunton or Orange City, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Styer was pronounced dead by the Medical Examiner at the scene of the accident.

Dunton suffered minor injuries and was transported to Central Florida Regional.

The crash remains under investigation.
