An 85-year-old motorist was killed in a crash on Friday in Marion County.
Blair Lewis Stewart, 85, of Ocala was riding a four wheel CF 250T, modded motorize scooter eastbound on U.S. Hwy. 27, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. Stewart failed to brake in time when traffic in front of him began slowing down for a red traffic signal. He took evasive action by swerving to the right, causing Stewart’s motorized scooter to collide with a raised curb. Stewart fell off the scooter as it overturned.
He was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he later died from injuries suffered in the accident.
