Arden Jewelers wins CFL Fall championship in Week Nine

The CFL’s regular season came to an end, even though Arden Jewelers
suffered their only defeat of the season, they won the championship.

Synergy Wealth beat Arden Jewelers 17-11.

Dale Neff, Vernon Brooks, and Bud Ramsey all stroked three hits and drove in a total of seven runs. Rick Duemler ended the fourth inning with a triple that drove in the last three runs of the inning. Ray Bedford drove in three runs with a pair of singles and John Kushner drove in two runs with a triple in the sixth. Arden Jewelers had several regular players missing due to a tournament. Doug St.Andrews, John Ashby, and Jim White had three hits each, while Maury Fjestad, Peter Daub, Terry Baughman, and sub, Tom Bent stroked a pair of hits each.

IHOP scored the go ahead run in the top of the seventh and held Palm Ridge
Dental scoreless for the win 16-15.

Palm Ridge took an early lead as they scored in each of the first four innings. Roy Warter had three hits and two runs driven in while Bob Shortt, Jim Lambert, Ed Niles, Ken Scanlon, Stan Kozlowski, DOn Winstead, George Loew, and sub, Paul Schaffer, each had a pair of hits. IHOP had four hits by
Mike Raines and Rich Bergman. Gary Roth and Cal Driskill added three hits each with Mike Bernbach, John Gouin, Paul Justice, and Josh Sheldon smacking two hits apiece.

Humana finished the season with a win over Gators Brownwood 17-15.

Bob Roth led Humana with four hits. Dave Hinkley, John VanArnhem, Dave Oatley, Pete Rose, and Jeff Bekasi added three hits each. Kevin Moore drove in two runs with a pair of hits and sub, John Barracato, drove in three with his two hits. Gators got three hits from Charlie Clare, Don Evans, Ken Atkinson, Chris Iorio, and Jim Rogers. Chipping in a pair of hits were: Mark Isom, Fred Hughes, Jim Crabtree, and Bob Jacques.

Team Koller finished the season on a strong note with a 15-6 win over Fross &
Fross.

Lead off hitter Howard Charney led Koller with four hits while Duane Broschat, Jim Joseph, George Kennedy, and sub, Rick Duemler, had three hits. Fross & Fross got three hits from Jack Nagle and a pair each from Paul Robinson, Jim Morton, VIn Stebbins, and Don Brozick.

Paul Davis wins second game due to a forfeit by Babiarz Law.

Paul Davis Restorations won its second game of the season due to a forfeit as
Babiarz Law was unable to field a team. The score for the forfeit was 7-0.

Central Florida returns after Thanksgiving for its post season Tournament.
