A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called Monday after a cart-full of items was stolen at the Wal-Mart in Summerfield.
A loss prevention specialist at the store, located at 17961 U.S. Hwy. 27/441, told the deputy that the thieves took approximately $78 worth of items after paying for other merchandise at one of the store’s self-checkout stations. He gave the deputy a receipt showing what was and wasn’t paid for, a sheriff’s office report states.
The loss prevention officer said the items stolen included video discs, a Dr. Pepper, a Pepsi, two Mountain Dews, Oreo cookies, flour, Mini Raviolis, honey BBQ sauce, Ranch dressing, clothes hangers, a 4-ounce bottle of mouth-sore rinse, storage bags, Febreze fabric freshener, milk, a large orange juice and a rib-eye steak.
