Bandits make off with mini fridges and TVs from Camping World storage lot

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to Camping World on U.S. Hwy. 441 on Tuesday after the manager reported a theft at the Summerfield RV business.

The manager of Camping World in Summerfield reported that thieves stole about $1,700 worth of mini fridges, televisions, a tire and a wheel from pull-behind campers at a storage lot.

When the deputy arrived at the facility’s storage lot, located at 14365 S U.S. Hwy. 441, the manager told him that thieves had entered a gate to the property where multiple pull-behind campers were stored. He said the bandits entered three of the campers and took several items, including mini refrigerators, televisions, a tire and a wheel.

The manager estimated the total loss at about $1,700, a sheriff’s office report states, adding that another $100 in damage was done to a cabinet door inside a storage compartment in one of the campers.

The manager told the deputy that the campers were last seen intact at noon on Oct. 30, the report says.
