‘A Bit of Burlesque’ to benefit Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County

A Villages favorite theatre show Fun Time Follies “A Bit of Burlesque” will return for its sixth season at the Savannah Center for two 7 p.m. performances, Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28. Show producers Jim and Kim Krum, longtime entertainers and great animal lovers had a desire to make a difference for homeless animals in their county. So they are donating proceeds from ticket sales to the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County. Dedicated to laughing out loud, Fun Time Follies will once again deliver a full bag of comedy and its own special brand of song and dance. It will feature songstress Laurie Arnold and comic Ken Hoffmann with special guest stars Sparkey’s Strummers plus a talented cast of 50 including the Marge Blakely Dancers, Travelin’ Shoes, The Top Bananas and The Step Family Cloggers.

The HS/SPCA will also host an information table at each performance, while accepting donations of pet food. “We saw for ourselves what a great job they do giving animals a chance at happy lives. So we knew this would be a worthy cause to support and it would be a fun way we can help them help animals in need. So if you want to participate, simply get your tickets and come out for an evening of fun and entertainment while knowing you are also doing good for a local charity” mentioned the Krums during one of their rehearsal sessions.

Tickets for Fun Time Follies 6 “A Bit of Burlesque” are now on sale online at thevillagesentertainment.com and at all Villages box offices (Spanish Springs on Del Mar Drive, Saddlebrook Recreation Center, Lake Sumter Landing behind the Old Mill Playhouse Theatre and Brownwood next to the Barnstorm Theater, Mon.-Fri. from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.). Tickets are only $18 for Villages residents and $23 for non-residents, with no ticket limit. For more show information, call the Villages Box Office 352-750-5411.
