Cape Coral bowler nabs November Shoot Out title at Fiesta Bowl

When Cape Coral’s Albert Stiriz began the championship game of this past weekend’s November Shoot Out at Fiesta Bowl with a 7-10 split, he probably feared the worse.

But Stiriz got hot and strung together 10 consecutive strikes to finish with a score of 276 to take the championship.

Doug Nairn, of Debary, was second with a score of 210. He was followed by Orlando’s George Gomez (203), Roger Tramp (Mount Dora, 190) and John Stackhouse (Mooresville, N.C., 187).

There were 56 entrants, including 13 Super Seniors. Only five Super Seniors made the natural cut of 608, so two were added to the next round to satisfy the conditions of the event.
