Cars on lawn and clutter spur complaints about home in The Villages

Cars on the lawn, clutter and weeds have spurred several complaints about a home in The Villages.

The home, at 1013 Vermont Ave. in the Village of Orange Blossom Gardens, was the subject of a public hearing Wednesday afternoon before the Village Center Community Development District Board of Supervisors.

A complaint about the condition of the home was received by Community Standards on Oct. 7 and it was verified the following day.

“Staff has been in contact with Mr. Jones and he has maintained some of the weeds; however, staff continues to receive complaints regarding the miscellaneous items on the lot,” Community Standards Manager Candice Dennis told the VCCDD board.

Jones was found to be in violation of the District’s deed compliance rule and given seven days to come into compliance. If the property is not brought into compliance, Jones will face a $150 fine to be followed by $50 daily fines. If fines reach $1,500, the matter will be turned over to legal counsel.
