Synergy Wealth wins its first game of season by defeating Palm Ridge Dental

And then there was one!

Week five saw Synergy Wealth win its first game of the season by defeating Palm Ridge Dental 14-8.

Synergy was led by Jim White’s four hits and three rbis. Gary Coleman added
three hits while Bob Kelly, Terry Baughman, Ed Haith, Ray Bedford, Bob Roth, Vernon Brooks, and, sub, Chick Cicatelli had a pair of hits each. Palm Ridge didn’t score until the fifth inning when they got three runs and their seventh inning comeback attempt fell short as they only scored five runs. Mark Isom led Palm Ridge with three hits and Jack Nagle had two hits. Synergy’s win knocked Palm RIdge out of a tie for first place.

Team Koller defeated Fross & Fross 12-4.

Team Koller had a balanced offense as Bob Holbert, Rocky Spottswood, Bob Buchanan, Bill Reed, Don Melcher, Bill Sass, and Jim Joseph all had two hits. A five run fifth inning followed by a four run sixth put the game out of reach. Fross got a pair of hits from Wayne Grunewald, Bill Nisbet, Bob LaFrance, and a pair of doubles by Cal Driskill.

IHOP took over sole possession of first place by besting Gators Brownwood with five runs in the bottom of the seventh to win 12-11.

Gators had three hits by Pat Perkins and Jim Rogers while Charlie Clare, Howard Charney, Pete Rose, Peter Daub, and Fred Hughes stroked two hits each. IHOP’s offense was led by the three hits each by: Manny Sanchez, Rick Duemler, Rick Fredieu, Art Anton, and Don Mulneix. Mulneix drove in the winning run with a walk off single.
