Week Four of the fall season ended with one team in sole possession of first place. With Gators Brownwood defeating Synergy Wealth, Arden Jewelers became the first place team as they defeated Paul Davis Restorations.
Babiarz Law bested Palm Ridge Dental 11-3.
Babiarz had two hits each from: Ken Link, Craig Dahlquist, Bob Winder, Ed Moriarity, and Duane Miller. Dahlquist had a two run homer as part of Babiarz’s five run 6th inning. Jim Wiegand had a double that drove in two runs as part of the team’s five run third innning. Conrad Strassle led Palm Ridge with three hits. Bob Shortt and Jim Lambert chipped in a pair of hits in the loss.
Humana got its first win of the season defeating Fross & Fross 13-6.
Humana’s bats were hot as David Hinkley and Art Anton both stroked four hits. Dave Oatley had three hits and Bob Roth, Ed Krisha, Jim Kitzler, and Bud Sheerin all had a pair of hits in the win. Fross & Fross had three hits by Jim Morton and Bob Holbert. TIm WIlcox and Don Brozick contributed a pair of hits for the losers.
Gators Brownwood handed Synergy Wealth its first loss of the season 16-7.
Gators had three hits each by Charlie Clare and Chris Iorio. Adding a pair of hits were: Frank Murth, Ken Atkinson, Jim Rogers, Don Evans, Jim Crabtree, and sub, John Reedy. Mark Isom drove in four runs with a sacrifice fly and a single. Synergy had a pair of hits from Dan Tharp, Vernon Brooks, Tom Latona, and Gary Coleman. John Kushner drove in two runs with a triple and a sacrifice fly, and Gary DePalma sent two runs across with a single and a base on balls with the bases loaded.
IHOP got another win with a 12-5 victory over American Portfolio Mortgage.
Paul Justice and Leroy Yoder led IHOP with three hits each. Adding a pair of hits were: Gary Roth, Cal Driskill, John Gouin, Rich Bergman. American Portfolio Mortgage pitcher, Jim Joseph, had three hits to lead his team. Brother, Ed and Marty Berger each stroked two hits, while Don Melcher drove in two runs with a double.
Arden Jewelers overpowered Paul Davis Restorations 18-14.
Mark Hildebrand had the hot bat for Arden as he had a double, an intentional walk, and hit two over the fence home runs. His first hit the top of the fence and bounced over to give Arden a rare 6 run inning as the fifth run was already on base. In total he had five rbi’s. Jim White drove in four runs with a pair of doubles. Maury Fjestad went four for four from the lead off position and Verne Benson, who batted next, was also four for four. Bill Sass, Paul Isenberg, Tery Baughman, Tom Bortle, Peter Daub, Gary Lewis, and Pat Kirk all had two hits in the win. Paul Davis tried to keep pace with Arden; but, fell short as they only scored three runs in the top of the seventh. Ed Haith and Jim Boerman led Paul Davis with four hits each. Bob Kelly, George Pugh, Mark Beasley, Vic Nucatola, and Jim Moyer all had three hits.
