A Connecticut man was among five men arrested in connection with a prostitution solicitation sting orchestrated by the Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team operation in Ocala.
UDEST recently received numerous complaints from citizens and law enforcement officers with regards to suspected prostitution activity, according to a media release. On Thursday, agents responded to the complaints by conducting a proactive undercover operation, the report stated.
The purpose of the operation was to locate, identify and arrest persons soliciting acts of prostitution and to discourage similar behavior in the future.
As a result of the operation, the following men were arrested: 58-year-old Donnie Novell Williams of Silver Springs, 63-year-old Mesilor Vital of Fort Pierce, 32-year-old Abraham O. Roman of Altamonte Springs, 34-year-old Hector Vargas Alvarez of Altamonte Springs and 64-year-old Dwight D. Tracy of Marlborough, Conn. Roman and Alvarez had also been charged with possession of cocaine.
Bond was set at $2,500 for Roman and Alvarez, and $500 for Vital and Tracy. No bond was set for Williams, due to a prior domestic battery case.
