Convicted felon tells police she doesn’t know how ammo wound up in purse

Leah Cim Carter

A convicted felon told police she didn’t know how ammunition wound up in her purse.

Leah Cim Carter, 33, of Ocala, had been riding in a pickup truck on Saturday evening on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake when the vehicle was pulled over for having a cracked windshield. She was seated in the center of the front seat, holding two pink purses.

A .45-caliber round of ammunition was found in one of the purses, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Carter told police she didn’t know how the ammunition wound up in the purse. She also revealed she had been released from prison in 2015 after serving time for possession of methamphetamine.

She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $10,000 bond.
