A 69-year-old Villager was ticketed in an accident that brought traffic to a near standstill Friday afternoon at County Road 466 and Rolling Acres Road.

Emergency personnel were at the scene of the collision that occurred at 1:56 p.m., backing up traffic in nearly every direction.

Daniel John Viscardi of 118 Paradise Drive in The Villages was ticketed on a charge of careless driving, according to the Lady Lake Police Department.

His white 2014 Ford utility vehicle was towed from the scene, as was the other vehicle involved in the crash.

Two people were transported from the scene. One was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center and the other was taken to The Villages Regional Hospital.
