Del Webbers tied up in Michigan fraud case turn to sheriff’s substation in The Villages

A Del Webb Spruce Creek couple met with a Marion County sheriff’s deputy for help with a fraud case out of Michigan.

The couple, who live in the 12800 block of E 90th Court Road, spoke with the deputy at the sheriff’s South Marion District Office substation at 8280 SE 165th Mulberry Lane in The Villages. They are the victims of a possible fraud case out of Michigan and needed a law enforcement official to confirm their identities.

The deputy identified the 79-year-old man from his state-issued driver’s license and his wife, also 79, from her state-issued identification card. The man said they had to produce a report proving their identity for the fraud case that is being handled by law enforcement in Michigan.
