Deputies respond to shooting call at Summerfield home

Marion County sheriff’s deputies were called to a Summerfield home Sunday afternoon in reference to a possible shooting incident.

Members of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT team, hostage negotiators and Major Crimes detectives were investigating a shooting call Sunday afternoon at a Summerfield home in the 8800 block of SE 142nd Lane.

Deputies responded to the home in 8800 block of SE 142nd Lane around 2 p.m. and once on scene, located a male victim. The man, whose name isn’t yet being released, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As of Sunday afternoon, members of the sheriff’s office’s SWAT team, hostage negotiators and Major Crimes detectives were investigating the incident, a sheriff’s office report states.
