Driver critically injured after crashing into school bus in Hernando County

A 53-year-old man was critically injured Friday morning after crashing into a school bus in Hernando County.

Donald Mark Dornfelt, 53, of Trilby, had been driving a 2000 Lincoln four-door at 10:25 a.m. at State Road 50 and McKethan Road when he turned into the path of the school bus driven by 71-year-old Justin Brennan of Spring Hill, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Dornfelt was transported to Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center.

The school bus had been transporting 20 Springstead High School students. One student suffered minor injuries.
