Driver extricated from vehicle after three-vehicle crash in Ocala  

Two people were transported by ambulance to a local hospital as a result of a three-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Ocala.

Upon arrival at the crash scene at 2:15 p.m. on SE 36th Avenue, firefighters encountered two sedans and a tree trimming truck with varying degrees of damage and debris on the road, according to Ashley Lopez of Ocala Fire Rescue.

Ocala Fire Rescue was on the scene of the accident Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of a silver sedan needed medical attention and extrication, one of the two occupants of a maroon sedan involved was unconscious and the three occupants of the tree trimming truck did not require medical assistance.

Crews from Engine #2 provided care for the patient in the maroon sedan, while crews from Rescue #2 and Tower #1 began extrication of the patient in the silver sedan. Both patients were trauma alerted to the hospital.

Marion County Fire Rescue and the Ocala Police Department also responded.
