A man who was not wearing a seatbelt was arrested after a K-9 alerted on his vehicle during a traffic stop across from Brownwood Paddock Square.
Robert Lee Ham, 28, of Ocala, had been driving a white pickup truck at 4 p.m. Thursday when he was pulled over at the intersection of Signature Drive and State Road 44, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. After the K-9 alerted on the pickup, a search of a Rockwell tool bag turned up a glass smoking pipe and a plastic bag containing 4.5 grams of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana. The tool bag also contained an 8mg sublingual film strip of Suboxone. Ham admitted he did not have a prescription for the Suboxone, a drug commonly used to help manage opioid dependency.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and was released after posting $2,500 bond.
