Edwin Parker

Edwin Parker, 93, of The Villages, FL, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017. Mr. Parker was born August 28, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY.

He was an U.S. Army, WWII Veteran and honored with a Purple Heart for his bravery. Edwin was a winter visitor for over 20 years before moving here permanently from Springfield, VA. He had attended Temple Shalom in Oxford and was a huge Washington Redskins Fan. Edwin had worked for the same employer for over 60 years and was still working for S. Freedman & Sons in Landover, MD at 93 years old.

Survivors include his children, Kevin B. Parker of West Hollywood, CA and Amanda Parker Jones of Woodbridge, VA; stepson, Phillip Tremper of The Villages; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Edwin was preceded in death by the love of his life, Norma Jean Parker who passed away on March 17, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Sarah Parker; son, Neil Robert Parker; sister, Lola Galin; brothers, Milton Parker and Irving Parker.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel with interment following in Florida National Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held in the future.
