Our Thursday, January 24 meeting will honor China and the Lunar New Year with authentic Chinese food, a discussion of China and some entertainment by the Chinese Culture and Dance group.

The Quilting Guild of The Villages is having a quilt show at both Rohan and SeaBreeze recreation centers on Friday, Jan. 25, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Featured at the show will be 300 quilts on display, 28 vendors, charity quilt raffle, boutique with quilted items for sale, silent auction, basket mania, demos, quilt appraiser and much more. You can even bring your dull scissors or knives to get them sharpened at one of the vendor booths.

Admission is $10 and shuttle buses will be available between venues.

On Friday, Jan. 25 at 6:15 p.m. at Lake Miona Recreation Center, join the Tri-County Optimist Club, a 501(c)(3) organization, for a charity event for a night of film, food and fun with movie clips, 50/50, pizza, soda, (BYOB) and dessert. Doors open at 6 p.m. Play as a table of 8 or bring a gang or just join a group. Tickets are $15 per person or a single purchase of a whole table for $100. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.

As quests check-in and find their table, we serve pizzas, sodas and desserts. A 50/50 table is also set up for the event and we’ll have rovers to sell tickets. The event features film clips from all eras which are then followed by a series of questions about the clip. Tables are numbered and play as a team. The winning teams receive small prizes.

Currently, only 48 tickets remain.

Proceeds to support Childhood Cancer, Junior Golf, local children’s charities and other youth activities.

The Girl Scout Alumnae Silver Trefoil Group exists to promote the positive impact of Scouting and to provide the opportunity for GS Alumnae relive their scouting memories and make new ones. Generally, we meet the fourth Monday of each at Laurel Manor at 3:00, September to May.

Everyone with an interest in Scouting, having fun, learning new information and skills, doing various service projects is welcome and encouraged to join us. All are welcome. Previous experience as a Girl Scout is not required for membership. Annual club dues are $5.00.

We are probably best known for our annual Pajama/Book drive benefiting homeless children in Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. Yes, we are the ones responsible for the “red boxes” you see in all the rec. centers during October, November, and December. we encourage you to bring pajamas and books to support our service project.

This is the fourth annual Stampers in Paradise Showcase and Sale. The previous location was in our meeting room at Paradise Rec. Center. Because of such a great response in the past we needed to move to a larger location and open it up to the general public. So a larger room, better parking, and open to the public. Can’t miss that!

The Villages Gem and Mineral Society Artisan show will take place on Sunday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the SeaBreeze Recreation Center with jewelry items, semi-precious stones, glass fusion, fossils, rough slabs, pottery, etc. Five rooms filled with treasures, including opals and larimar. The Girl Scout Alumnae Silver Trefoil Group exists to promote the positive impact of Scouting and to provide the opportunity for GS Alumnae relive their scouting memories and make new ones. Generally, we meet the fourth Monday of each at Laurel Manor at 3:00, September to May.

Everyone with an interest in Scouting, having fun, learning new information and skills, doing various service projects is welcome and encouraged to join us. All are welcome. Previous experience as a Girl Scout is not required for membership. Annual club dues are $5.00.

We are probably best known for our annual Pajama/Book drive benefiting homeless children in Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. Yes, we are the ones responsible for the “red boxes” you see in all the rec. centers during October, November, and December. we encourage you to bring pajamas and books to support our service project.
