Educational Homestay Programs (EHP) is looking for caring volunteer host families to welcome students for a few weeks this summer.
More than 100 students from Germany, France and Italy will travel this August 1 – 26 to Ocala to take cultural education and English language classes.
You will learn about your host student’s customs and traditions as he or she discovers the culture, and lifestyle of the United States. Open your home to an EHP student and discover a world of learning and opportunity. If you are able to provide a bed, transportation to and from the local course center (if applicable), and a caring environment, you have what it takes to host an international student! This experience will allow you to cultivate long-lasting friendships and promote cross-cultural connections in your community. Prior to your student’s arrival, you will be required to attend a Host Family Orientation. At this meeting you will learn important details about the program and meet the EHP staff that will be working with your students during their stay. All students are insured and carry prepaid round-trip airline tickets and bring their own spending money for personal needs, souvenirs, entertainment and other incidentals. Students have basic or high level capabilities speaking the English language.
Students who stayed with the families in the Villages got an exposure of how beautiful and active the community is. Villagers make some of the best host families; we have time, compassion and so much experience to offer these kids. You will make international friends for life and learn about another culture from the comfort of your own home.
