Gate reconfiguration paves way for removal of pair of controversial speed bumps

The exit gate at the entrance to the Village of Bridgeport and Lake Sumter is being reconfigured.

Once the project is complete, the speed bumps on the multi-modal path near the entrance will be removed.

Community Development District 6 supervisors voted last week to remove the speed bumps which have been a source of frustration for some residents.

Supervisors stipulated that the speed bumps should not come down until the gate reconfiguration is finished.
