A rural setting that could be in mid America, Scandinavia, or Transylvania, Let The Right One In will keep you guessing what is really happening. We have Oskar (Ben Tracy) a lonely boy, bullied to extremes by Jonny (Gregory Buckheit), and Micke (Orlando Mendez) meeting Eli (Marissa Toogood) the girl next door with a veiled history. The story progresses with murders, bullying, love affairs, and vampires making this production a true beginning for the Halloween season. (A play even Bram Stoker would enjoy.)
The entire cast does a remarkable job with their character portrayals and some actors play several different rolls throughout the story. With certain stage restrictions, it is an admirable job of the staff to create a multi purpose set and be able to move props in and out with ease. The choreography of movements, at times, is almost a ballet. A trip to The Hipp can make Halloween look like a cakewalk. This production runs through Nov. 4 with tickets and information available at: thehipp.org.
