John A. Bishop

John A. Bishop, 84, of Leesburg, Florida, formally of Slatington, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 14,2018. John was born on June 3, 1934 in Pen Argyl, PA. He was the son of John Charles Bishop and Virgin Mary Fritzinger Bishop.

John grew up in Palmerton, PA and married Dorothy Biege Bishop and raised their son in Slatington, PA. He was a retired foremen industrial machinist at Ingersoll Rand in Allentown, PA. He was also a member of the American Legion and Masonic Temple 440 of Slatington, PA. John proudly served in the U.S. Army with an honorable discharge. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Bishop, of Leesburg, FL, son: Glenn Bishop wife Sherry, of Palmerton, PA., brother: Thomas Bishop wife Debra of Brandenton, FL, sister-in -law: Louise Bishop of Lehighton, PA., 2 grandchildren: Kayla Bishop and fiance Jason Tully of Summit Hill, PA, Adam Bishop of Lansford, PA, 3 great grandchildren: Jacey, Kadance and Auston Tully. He was preceded in death by his parents John C Bishop, Virgin Mary (Fritzinger) Bishop, and 2 brothers: Stephen Bishop and Elanius (Lenny) Bishop.

There will be a Memorial Service in Celebration of the Life of John Bishop, on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 1313 Griffin Rd. Leesburg, FL.
