Lady Lake man ‘hearing voices’ jailed after threatening brother with knife

Christopher William Carrier

A 31-year-old Lady Lake man remained behind bars this weekend following his arrest last week on a warrant charging him with threatening his brother with a knife.

Christopher William Carrier was arrested on the warrant charging him with aggravated assault with a weapon after the Sept. 3 attack at a home in the 4400 block of Lemon Street in Lady Lake.

Carrier said he had been hearing voices on Sept. 3 when he armed himself with a large kitchen knife and threatened to kill his brother. The brother was able to wrestle the knife away from Carrier and called 911. Carrier was transported to Life Streams Behavioral Center in Leesburg. A check revealed that Carrier has been Baker Acted six times for threatening to harm either himself or his brother.

Carrier is already on probation on a previous charge of simple battery.

He was being held on $2,000 bond at the Lake County Jail.
