Lady Lake police arrested a 21-year-old woman who allegedly made threats while armed with a pair of steak knives.
Jennifer J. Woodruff of Fruitland Park had been driving a car on Spencers Lane at about 6 p.m. Monday at a high rate of speed when she nearly struck an individual, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. That person yelled at Woodruff, telling her to slow down.
Woodruff slammed on her brakes, leaving skid marks about 30 feet from where she was told to slow down. She got out of the car with the steak knives and walked toward the man who had told her to slow down. The man’s wife began yelling at Woodruff and she got back into her car and drove away.
While a police officer was taking statements from the man and his wife, Woodruff drove back by and the couple told the officer that it was the woman with the steak knives.
Woodruff claimed she had been defending herself.
She was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,000 bond.
