Lady Lake police were called to investigate an altercation after an alleged fracas over rotisserie chicken at Sam’s Club.

Police responded Jan. 4 to an altercation involving two older males, one of whom who had left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

A 71-year-old man told police he had been waiting for his rotisserie chicken when another man pushed him into the hot shelving, according to an incident report. He said he suffered a burn and instinctively swung his elbow back, striking the other man who fell back and knocked down a 70-year-old woman from The Villages.

Video surveillance from the store was collected as evidence. There were no immediate arrests.
