Lady Lake woman arrested on felony charge of driving while license suspended

Lori Ann Marchant

A Lady Lake woman was arrested on a felony charge of driving while license suspended after failing to come to a complete stop at an intersection.

Lori Ann Marchant, 55, had been at the wheel of a gray 2001 Nissan four-door at 3:31 p.m. Saturday when she failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Orange Circle and Lemon Street, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

A check revealed Marchant’s driver’s license was suspended for failure to pay a traffic fine and she had two previous convictions for driving while license suspended. Marchant told the police officer she “called Apopka yesterday and took care of the ticket over the phone,” the report said. The officer informed Marchant that is not the way the system works.

During the arrest, a blue straw with the residue of Methamphetamine was discovered in her pocket.

She is facing a felony charge of driving while license suspended, because of her two prior convictions, as well as a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,000 bond.
