Laura Mae Newman

Laura Mae Newman, 71, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Born in Bradford, PA, Laura was the daughter of Winona (Ward) Trace and the late Robert Trace.

Laura received her associate degree from Mercer University, Macon, GA. She enjoyed a successful career in banking, culminating in her position as executive vice-president at Wachovia Bank in Warner Robins, GA.

Laura was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family being her pride and joy. She was a sewing enthusiast which led the skillful art of embroidery and beading. Laura also enjoyed traveling cross-country with her husband, Art, in their mobile home. Laura and Art moved to The Villages from Rockledge, FL in 2006.

Laura was predeceased by her father, Robert Trace and brother, Donnie Trace.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband of 51 years, Art Newman; her mother, Winona (Ward) Trace of Canal Fulton, OH; daughters Lori Cox and husband Tim of Freeport, FL, Cheri Sursely and husband Joe of Midlothian, TX; three grandchildren, Christin Hodges and husband, Russ, Terra Smith and husband, Willie, Ashley Costilla and husband, Brant; eight great grandchildren: Katelyn and Abby Ary, Madison, Morgan, Melanie, and McKenzie Smith, Maddox and Kane Costilla; brothers, Ron and wife Sue Trace, Tom and wife Linda Trace all of Atwater, Ohio.

Services for Laura will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
