How about a little common sense when it comes to post-Irma golf course maintenance?

To the Editor:

While we are all disappointed that we can’t play golf, we understand it is an unfortunate consequence of Hurricane Irma and part of the trade-off we make to enjoy living in Florida.

And we also know that things will get better as sure as we know the sun will rise at 7:14 a.m. tomorrow.  And we also know, and expect, that regular maintenance will be kept up at the golf courses including mowing the grass.

But here is what I don’t know:  If the courses are closed, why are they mowing the greens behind our homes at 6 a.m.? Seriously! Nobody’s putting on them! Wait until you don’t need headlights. And further, don’t stop behind my bedroom at 6 a.m. with your mower running and sit there looking at your “smart” phone.

How about just a little common sense?
